The Unique combination of Stepped Hull & Bow Design
The Karnic R8s features a stepped hull combined with a unique bow design. The top section of the bow is more upright, while the lower section (the running surface) maintains a traditional deep-V shape. This combination is smart and purposeful.
-The steeper bow profile on top helps the boat slice through larger waves while keeping water spray down and improving forward deck space.

What is a Stepped Hull — and Why It Makes a Difference
A stepped hull is a modern hull design where horizontal notches (called “steps”) are built into the bottom of the boat. These steps reduce the amount of surface area touching the water and pull air into the water flow. Unlike traditional hulls that rely mainly on lift from the back of the boat (the transom), a stepped hull creates multiple lift points.
